Since its founding in November 2019, the Austrian Language Center Egypt has built a reputation for quality, reliability, and sustainable educational excellence.
Six years of institutional development have shaped its journey, but 2025 stood out as an especially significant year, marked by strong growth, new partnerships, and a deepening commitment to academic excellence.
Whether you are a current learner, a prospective student, or simply curious about German language education in Egypt, this year's achievements reflect a story of trust, dedication, and continuous improvement.

A Milestone Year of Growth

The year 2025 marked a defining chapter in the institute's development, with over 1,000 courses delivered and more than 10,000 learners supported.
These achievements reflect not only growth in numbers, but the trust learners place in the institute, the dedication of its team, and an unwavering commitment to educational quality.

What Defined 2025

The past year brought a wide range of achievements and new initiatives, including:
New partnerships and expanded teaching resources
Continued digitalization of course offerings
Growth of online learning across Egypt and the Gulf region
Expansion across six locations nationwide
Strong demand for children's and youth programs
A thriving Language Café and Game Night community
Deepened academic cooperation with German universities

Together, these developments reinforced the institute's position as one of the leading centers for German language education in Egypt.

Key Highlights
Nationwide Reach, Local and Online

Programs were offered across six locations throughout Egypt, with a strong focus on Cairo and Alexandria as the country's key economic and academic hubs.
At the same time, online courses extended access to learners throughout Egypt and the Gulf region, including many Egyptian and Arab learners currently based in Germany and Austria who continued their studies with the institute.
A Strong Educational Core

Standard courses from A1 to C2 remained the heart of the institute's offerings, with particular demand for levels A1 through C1.
Courses are designed in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and the Profile Deutsch curriculum, delivered in structured 60-minute lessons that meet international quality standards.
Investing in Young Learners

Children's and youth courses for learners aged 8 to 13 formed a vital second pillar of the institute's work, with particularly strong demand at its New Cairo branch.
These programs combine interactive teaching methods, playful learning activities, and age-appropriate communication, giving young learners both language skills and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.

Language Cafés and Game Nights
Since 2019, Language Cafés have been a defining tradition at the institute, offering learners a supportive space to build speaking fluency, confidence, and intercultural understanding through discussions on everyday life, work, and society.
Game Nights added a playful complement to this format, using board games and communicative activities to build language skills in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.

Elevating Teacher Training
Through its "Teaching German as a Foreign Language Professionally" seminars, the institute equips teachers with essential skills in lesson planning, classroom management, and learner-centered instruction.
Its own Teacher Academy trains two new teaching teams each year in Cairo and Alexandria through a six-module program, ensuring consistent quality even as the institute continues to grow.
International Recognition and Academic Partnerships
Participation in the IDT conference in July 2025 strengthened the institute's international connections, including a valuable exchange with the Österreich Institut team on quality standards and institutional development.

As the only Studienkolleg model in Egypt offered in cooperation with Aachen University, the institute also provides learners with a structured pathway to university studies in Germany, combining six months of preparation in Egypt with six months of coursework in Germany.

Deepening Curriculum Partnerships
Continued cooperation with Hueber Verlag supported the development of the "Miteinander in Österreich" coursebook, which emphasizes values education, social orientation, and cultural integration within an Austrian context.

This partnership helps prepare learners not only linguistically, but also culturally, for life and study in Austria.

A Home for Future Educators

The institute also welcomes students from Vienna's German Studies, Arabic Studies, and Oriental Studies departments for hands-on internships, offering practical experience in an intercultural educational setting.

Many interns describe feeling "at home" at the institute, reflecting the close ties between Austria and Egypt and its collaborative working culture.
